My story

What had held me back in life without me even knowing it up until this point, all stemmed from undiagnosed dyslexia and a deep feeling of inadequacy.

It has affected my self-esteem, my confidence, my belief and trust in myself and this has resulted in me making certain decisions that have shaped my life such as my reluctance to accept job promotions, feeling like other people are better than me, striving for perfection, imposter syndrome, fearing failure so not willing to try certain things, ill health from the impact of all the negative and critical self-talk that I held inside, being a people pleaser because other people are more important and worthy then me, you get the general idea….

Too many obstacles were blocking my path until I came across Life Coaching and Rapid Transformational Therapy, and it helped me to change my mindset and blasted the roadblocks that were identified as holding me back.

The changes I’ve made to my thinking and actions have impacted my life in such a positive way. One thing I find invaluable is that our success in life is mainly down to mindset. If that’s not a good enough reason to work on yourself, I don’t know what is!

If you’re anything like me and see a chunk of writing as a challenge or a chore, you will be pleased to know that you can listen to my audio story  below to hear my personal story of how I went from surviving to thriving with dyslexia and learn about RTT and it's power to to get you from where you are to where you want to be...

Understanding that your dyslexia or undiagnosed dyslexia is as individual as you are, my approach is about being flexible and adaptable so I can best serve you and your goals. My aim will always be to empower you to reach your full potential through listening, questioning and being a catalyst for change.

I feel that it’s both surviving and now thriving with dyslexia that makes me so passionate, motivated, and determined to help others who are struggling with it.

My focus is working on how you feel about yourself because I personally found my biggest struggle was not the dyslexia itself although it is a factor but the way I felt about myself and this has impacted all areas in my life without me knowing it and I also I see this with my clients, and this is what lights me up as this can be transformed if you’re ready and willing to invest in yourself.

We can work out what combination of RTT or mindset coaching will suit your needs best and get working to bring about the change you need……. rapidly!  I have always enjoyed helping people, but now combining my coaching and RTT together has given me so much more fulfilment because I am helping my clients to heal and grow on a much deeper level that I was able to do before and that comes from having experienced it myself and understanding what is required to break free from your own self-limiting beliefs that you have placed on yourself without even knowing it.

This work together will be about you, so it’s important that you feel fully committed and ready to do the work that will allow you to gain freedom from yourself in your own way.

Experience

After leaving school I trained and worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer, which I loved. I am passionate about keeping fit and healthy and I like helping others to do the same.

What fascinated me most about working with clients was the realisation that people’s emotional issues really effected their weight and health. I found it limiting and frustrating that I was ‘only’ able to provide support and advice on their physical needs around diet and exercise. I found myself naturally drawn to talking to my clients about their lives, emotions, and struggles, and soon noticed that I could help them just as much by letting them talk and by listening to their life stories. This was absolutely thrilling to me because I was often told that clients felt as if they would get a ‘counselling/coaching session’ as well as a physical training session and that they really looked forward to seeing and talking to me as they always felt so much better afterwards. The more I was told I would make a great counsellor or coach, the more it made me think that I would like to get a formal training and qualification.

My insecurities made me outwardly laugh at the suggestion when anyone mentioned what a great counsellor or coach I would be, but inwardly, it was the direction I wanted to go in and I felt super excited at the very thought of it. I then went on to train and achieve a counselling and coaching diploma, which I did alongside my job because it complemented it perfectly.

Drawing from my diverse work and life experiences has allowed me to explore who I am and where my strengths and limitations are.  For instance, I’ve been a residential career and teaching assistant at a private boarding school specialising in dyslexia where I learnt a lot about myself and how dyslexia plays out differently for each and every person. I have also been a high school counsellor where I volunteered at two high schools in Suffolk helping children who needed additional emotional support in school and after school.

I have worked on cruise ships at a personal fitness trainer in the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

I have travelled alone around Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Canada to name but a few places having fun and adventures and learning so much about people in different countries and our similarities and differences.  I have tried lots of different things and more recently, I have been selling new homes for 15 years, whilst doing more training and qualifications building towards launching my business.

My varied career has had one thread running throughout and that is I love helping people to gain knowledge and self-awareness so that they can begin to move towards the person they always knew they were. In turn, I’ve learned so much from every single person I’ve met and it’s that learning and togetherness that makes me feel the time is right for my own practice and business to advance my experience of working therapeutically even further and to work with more people who are interested in unlocking their own potential.

In my personal life, I live in Suffolk, in the U.K. with my husband, Shane and our dog, Dollar, where we enjoy a country life. My passions are self-development, I am a self-development junkie.  I am also passionate about nature, water sports and traveling as I love going on different adventures and having new experiences it energises me, lights me up and it makes me feel alive!
