Dyslexia & Undiagnosed Dyslexia

Working with me

As a dyslexic person myself, I understand some of what we go through to mask our needs and how many struggles, often unseen, we contend with daily.  For many, those hidden efforts have been going on for decades. I am passionate about working with people that feel as if their experience of having dyslexia or undiagnosed dyslexia has held them back in some way from attaining their full potential. If you are anything like me every day consists of varying degrees of frustration, some days are low level if I am doing things I like and I am naturally good at, other days can be overwhelming if its things that I struggle with.

I am not going to tell you that after working with me all of this will disappear because it won’t, however you will have a much better understanding of yourself and how dyslexia or undiagnosed dyslexia affects you and your life, and you will be able to manage your thoughts and emotions better and deal with whatever is thrown at you from a new level of self-awareness, and self-acceptance.

So as fantastic as some of the dyslexic gifts can be, the flip side of having dyslexia is that certain day to day tasks can be hard work, overwhelming, and very frustrating which can cause disappointment, confusion, anger, and anxiety.

Low self-esteem, anxiety and depression are the most common emotional challenges that I see with my clients due to the inconsistencies of dyslexia. These frustrations can be directed inward or taken out on our loved ones through anger outbursts etc

There are many issues and challenges that people with dyslexia and undiagnosed dyslexia can face on a day-to-day basis and these are just some areas that I help my clients with:

Increasing self-awareness.

Learning to trust yourself.

Improving self-image.

Organisation.

Helping with accountability.

Decreasing anxiety and depression.

Being able to identify strengths and weaknesses.

Imposter Syndrome.

Improving communication.

Overcoming a fear of failure.

Building confidence and self-esteem.

Creating healthy habits and routines.

Finding balance in life.

Getting clarity on what you want out of life.

Identifying what’s holding you back.

Setting goals and taking action.

Enjoying life in the present moment.

Dealing with self-doubt.

Unlocking potential.

Assisting with time management and productivity.

Finding happiness.

Helping to achieve goals.

Discovering clarity.

Discovering your best self.

Learning to make better decisions.

Staying motivated.

Improving physical well-being.

Reducing stress.

Accepting and liking yourself as you are.

Dyslexia coaching and RTT.

We, as dyslexic people, also have many outstanding skills and qualities that can sometimes get forgotten! So, for balance it’s important to me to list some of the attributes that dyslexia can have in bucket loads that are positive and life-enhancing when acknowledged, understood, and fully embraced.

We can explore and tap into some of these potential gifts and talents together in our coaching sessions.

We dyslexics can be:

Creative.

Empathic.

Compassionate.

Intuitive and insightful.

Innovative.

Observant.

‘Out of the box’ thinkers.

Entrepreneurial.

High levels of motivation and persistence.

Able to visualise things.

Good communication skills.

‘Global thinkers’ that are able to see the big picture.

Good problem-solving skills.

It’s so easy to focus on our perceived negatives and take our positives for granted if we notice them at all that is.

Not everybody has the skills listed above and so we should be celebrated that we think and process information differently, and the most important person to celebrate you, is you!

Liking and accepting all parts of yourself the light and the dark, the good and the bad however you perceive them is another important part of the work I do through my coaching and therapy sessions.

My clients will tell you that I am intuitive, compassionate, energetic, motivated, and fun to be around. That positive energy is infectious and is key to developing not only a motivating workspace and relationship, but also vital to gaining the confidence to push your old mindset to the kerb and reveal the strong and capable person that you have always wanted to meet, believe in and feel confident to show to the world.

Self-reflection might be an integral part of growth, but it can be really exhausting, you don’t need to do it alone so let me help you to tune into and explore who you are right now, to better understand who you want to be in the future and together let’s do this!

If you are ready for change then I would love to be the person to guide you through the process.
